From new releases to cult cinema to foreign films, Movielink offers a good collection of popular films and receives our “TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award.” Movielink has created relationships with some of the top studios, including MGM Studios, Paramount Pictures, Sony Picture Entertainment, Universal Studios and Warner Brothers Studios, to offer legal, quick and safe movie downloads.

Movielink offers per movie pricing and does not require a membership fee. They also offer all kinds of movie specials and a different 99 cents movie everyday. You can also purchase DVDs through their site.

This service offers a unique selection of popular films and some excellent features but falls behind the #1 movie download site, CinemaNow, because they offer fewer titles and don’t have a burning option for any of their films.

Membership Features

Movielink has a selection of over 1000 feature films by some of the major studios. They also offer a variety of National Geographic films and shows from The Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and The Learning Channel. Movielink includes Sundance Channel Home Entertainment films, documentaries and other shows from the British Broadcasting Corp (BBC).

Movielink does not have an adult-mature category however, they do host a “Screen Steam” section that are not rated X films, but sexy Rs. By and large, this site is kid–friendly and hosts a family section with G and PG films.

Movie Information

We found Movielink to be extremely easy to use and they don’t require a long complicated registration process.

How Movielink Works

    1. Search various movie categories and choose to rent or purchase a title. They provide free downloads of trailers to help you decide.

    2. You can pay with either a credit or debit card, Movielink has no subscription, membership or late fees. They charge per movie, which for a rental can range from 99 cents to $4.95.

    3. Download your movies. With your first download, you’ll get the Movielink Manager, a free program that helps you manage and view your movies. Any other required software upgrades are also free.

    4. Watch your movies on a PC, TV or notebook within 30 days. Once you start watching a movie you have 24 hours to finish it and can view it as many times as you want in those 24 hours. You can play the films through Real Player or Windows Media Player.

Movielink got our top rating in this area because they are one of the only movie download sites we came across that has live chat—we had some questions and they helped us instantly. They also have a FAQ page that answers most of the commonly asked questions.

Legal, studio supported movie download services are just beginning to gain momentum and we feel that Movielink has some excellent connections and is already beginning to offer a good collection of films.

Using Movielink is easy, they do not even require that you use your credit card information to register, this is a great place to find recently released feature films and family friendly downloads.
