We do not recommend this site for children; MovieFlix.com displays adult banner ads that contain adult images. They do provide a family filter; however, it is easy to turn off.

Movie Selection:

MovieFlix specializes in older movies from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. When you register for MovieFlix Plus at $ 7.95 per month, you will be able to watch hundreds of their “premium” movies and thousands of their “basic” movies. This is for unlimited movie viewing without additional fees or per movie charges. They even offer some movie downloads free without subscription.

Some of the classic television shows they offer include The Dick Van Dyke Show, Dragnet, Bonanza, Ozzie and Harriet, and Roy Rogers. The serials they offer include such classics as Zorro, Flash Gordon, Junior G–Men and The Phantom Creeps.

This is a good site to find classic films, even silent films such as the 1916 version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, many Charlie Chaplin films or the 1922 version of The Headless Horseman with Will Rogers.

They do not offer many feature films and certainly not recent releases, they do however, offer some independent and film festival released films and short films that are less than 10 years old.

Ease of Use of Service:

MovieFlix is one of the easier sites to use that we came across. However, you will need a 56K modem or higher for downloading, a broadband connection is preferred and Real Player or Windows Media Player either of which can be downloaded free from MovieFlix.

Help/Support:

MovieFlix offers 24/7 phone support, which is rare, so if you downloaded a movie in the middle of the night you can get help. They also offer email support.

Summary:

This site has a large selection of classic B–Movies and adult titles. We did not however review the adult “After Hours” selection, so we don’t know if they are classic titles as well or current releases.

MovieFlix offers an inexpensive subscription price and a large selection of free downloads. They also let you browse their entire collection without making you submit your credit card information.

This is an excellent place to look for classic, nearly historic silent films, classic television shows or amusing B–Movies.
