Movie Selection:  

EZTakes provides more than 2500 films to choose from including popular documentaries like Super Size Me and The Lost Tomb of Jesus to the most obscure, strange and unheard of titles like Spacemen and Go Go Girls. Additionally, they include some classic titles like Night of the Living Dead.

Prices range from about $2 to $20, depending on the age and popularity of the film. The best part of EZTakes’ service is just about any movie you download can be burned to a DVD and played in a standard DVD player. You are not tied to watching your movies on your computer.  

Ease of Use of Service:  

EZTakes’ interface is simple and easy to use. You can find everything you are looking for in the left navigation or search box.

Our largest complaint with EZTakes is the ability to play the movies. The company says it will work with Windows Media Player; however, we were unable to play our downloads through WMP. Instead we had to download a VLC media player, an additional video viewer (available for free and recommended by EZTakes’ website). Although this really isn’t a big deal, we admit it was inconvenient. However, we suppose having the ability to watch the DVDs in the comfort of your own La-Z-Boy makes up for it.

Keep in mind that you have to have DVD burner hardware installed on your computer in order to burn a DVD.

To download movies onto your iPod EZTakes offers an additional module for $9.99. Soon they will be offering Apple formats to a select number of their films.

EZTakes includes a FAQ and phone support. We were disappointed it took us a little while to find email support on the homepage. The link is buried at the very bottom of the website. However, they include an extensive help manual and email contact prominently displayed in the downloaded movie manager.  

If you are into strange and different movies that don’t necessarily make it on the big screen this site may be right up you alley. There is a large selection of unusual titles just begging to be seen, but they also scatter a small selection of movies and television programs you may be familiar with just so you don’t feel completely out of place.
